Are you a shutterbug? Here’s your chance to show your stuff.
Enter your best photos in the Teen Photography Contest. All photographs will be displayed in the library. Prizes will be awarded. See a youth librarian for official rules and to register.
Parker Library: registration begins Wednesday, September 15 at 9 a.m.

Mo Willems Author Party
Join us for a special storytime celebrating the works of Mo Willems.
We'll enjoy his stories and related fun and games. The author won't be present, but this event is sure to please young fans ages 3-7.
Live Local Music: Guitarist Ted Loughry
Blues guitarist Ted Loughry is currently playing with The King Stan Band in Denver and is the “stunt guitarist” for Starcher-Hutsen in Glenwood Springs. His solo act includes a wide range of genres, from blues to folk, with some jazz and rock thrown in for good measure.
Get Ready for Storytime
Storytime staff will present two workshops that will show parents how storytime can prepare children for reading, and will teach parents to extend the value of storytime through fun activities at home. You should register if you are the parent of children ages 0-5. Bring the kids with you!

I Survived the Holocaust
Denver resident Eric Cahn was 2 years old and living in Mannheim, Germany, when his family was arrested by the Nazis and deported to a concentration camp in southern France. Cahn will talk about the bold move his family made that saved his life.
Reading Buddies
Reading Buddies pairs teen volunteers with young readers for maximum learning and maximum fun!
Teens ages 13-18, do you like to read? Become a Reading Buddy and read with a reluctant 1st-3rd grade reader. Earn community service hours!
Parents of struggling readers ages 6-9, your child may benefit from reading with a trained teen buddy. Together, they'll play games, choose books appropriate for your child's reading level, read, and review to increase reading comprehension.
Build your business with Douglas County Libraries
